Description

StoreMaster Utility Programs make up, not a single Module,
but a while CLASS of modules. These are programs which can
be used for manipulating and using the data files of the
StoreMaster System, and are provided in the form of both
executable programs and as source code so that you can
extend them yourself.
It has been the experience of almost every programmer that
an already-written (and working) program can be an excellent
tool for learning. We believe that by providing these
Utility programs to you, we will not only be helping you,
but helping everyone involved in the use of StoreMaster.
Requirements
===========================================================
No other modules are required for the use of the Utility
Programs. Needless to say, you will need to have data files
to work on, otherwise there wouldn't be much sense in your
even looking at the programs, much less using them.
Program Formats
===========================================================
Most of the programs available at present (Summer 2001) are
in the form of FoxPro Version 2.6 executables and their
source code.
We realize that having the sources does not do you a lot of
good unless you have a means of converting them into
executable programs, and we are addressing this problem in
the following ways:
1. We will compile and link your programs for you,
provided that you will allow them to be added to the
common pool of Utility Programs available to all users.
2. We will search for and make available for sale legal
copies of FoxPro for your own use, and we will provide
you with links to places where others also do this.
3. We will convert programs to work with Harbour (and any
other compilers), which is a freely distributed software
which has been in development by an international
community for many months, and is nearing the point of
being released to the general public. Harbour is
available for DOS, Windows, Linux, and various Unixes.
